Calabrian Pepper Hummus
A traditional hummus recipe is blended with Calabrian peppers for a delicious spicy kick. This hummus is incredible as a spread on sandwiches or as a dip.
Time: 5-10 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 can of chickpeas, drained
- 4 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 heaping teaspoons of tahini
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1-2 teaspoons Calabrian peppers, chopped (depending on your desired heat level). I add 2 teaspoons.
Instructions
- In a food processor add everything but the Calabrian peppers and the olive oil. Blend for 2-3 minutes until smooth. Scrape down sides.
- Add olive oil and Calabrian peppers. Blend for 1-2 more minutes and until completely smooth.
- Garnish with more olive oil to prevent a skin from forming.
Recipe Notes:
Serve with your favorite crudités or use it as a spread.
