Dad's Dressing
My dad used to make this dressing about once a week, so growing up, we instinctively called it "Dad's Dressing." It's a dream for garlic lovers and a staple in the fridge. We've had neighbors and family begging for the recipe because it's that good.
Yield: 1 cup
Time: 5-10 minutes
Ingredients
-
6 Garlic Cloves
-
1⁄4 Cup White Wine Vinegar
- 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
- 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 Tablespoons Dijon
- 3 Dashes of Tabasco
- Scant 1 Tablespoon Honey
- 1⁄8 Teaspoon Freshly Ground Black Pepper
- 1⁄2 Teaspoon Salt
- 3⁄4 Cup Good Olive Oil
- 1 Tablespoon of the oil from giardiniera (optional)
- (you can add an egg yolk to create a thicker dressing, if desired)
Instructions
- In a blender, blend everything but the olive oil.
- On a slow speed, slowly drizzle in the olive oil.
- Add about 1 Tablespoon of the oil from giardiniera, if you like extra spicy.
Recipe Notes:
Use as a salad dressing. My favorite way to have this dressing is over greens with Parmesan cheese chunks and homemade croutons.
