Ranch Flavored Gluten-Free Pretzels

I grew up eating ranch flavored crackers and wanted to create a gluten-free pretzel version. I accidentally grabbed the "fiesta" flavored hidden valley ranch mix at one point while testing these and was pleasantly surprised by how they turned out. We have decided they taste like Salsa Verde Doritos. I do think, however, the original ranch dip mix is the best.

Ingredients

  • 2 8 ounce bags of gluten-free pretzels
  • 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons neutral oil (canola or avocado oil)
  • 1 packet of original ranch dip mix
  • 1/4 teaspoon lemon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • Pre-heat oven to 250F.
  • In a large bowl add everything but the pretzels and whisk together. Once combined, fold in the gluten-free pretzels.
  • Pour on a large parchment lined baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. Mix the pretzels every 10 minutes to ensure the pretzels bake evenly. Once the oil looks evaporated, they are done. Allow to cool to room temperature.

Recipe Notes:

You don't want to bring any color to the pretzels. They are baked at a low temperature in order to dry out the oil so that the seasoning sticks to the pretzels. The pretzels will harden back up completely once they cool.
